- Select one or two affiliate marketing programs that you like and trust, rather than promoting several at one time. Choose programs that fit the niche of your blog or website, and that preferably, you've used yourself.
- Spend at least a half-hour each day promoting your chosen programs. Doing so will help you reach new customers, and make new sales more frequently.
- Write original articles, ads and blog posts for marketing your affiliate programs rather than simply using what the marketer gives you. Too many people will be posting those same ads and information and they will quickly lose their impact. Create your promotional materials that will speak for themselves, and you'll earn more sales by attracting more customers.
- Create your own information products and use them to promote the affiliate programs you've chosen. Not only will you earn more money by selling your own products as well, but you'll be killing two proverbial birds with stone when you promote your products alongside the affiliate program.
- Realize that it does take money to make money, so don't be afraid to spend money for marketing and advertising your affiliate programs. Good advertising isn't always free, and while you don't want to go overboard, true success will probably cost you some cash up front.
- Choose ad locations well, based on how you can best reach your target audience. Then track the results diligently. If an ad isn't working, and making sales, tweak it before you dump it completely. If you find after tweaking it a bit that it still isn't working, however, stop using it and find something that works.
Many Internet marketers earn a living using successful affiliate marketing techniques. There's no reason you can't be one of them. Just learn to do what works and do it well.
